Ty Mawr Camping and Caravanning Site is a 3 acre site located directly on the idyllic Llangollen canal, famed for its beauty and tranquility and a famous holiday spot of Harrison Ford.
The interior area of the Site is retained as a wild meadow to encourage wildlife and has an abundancy of birdlife and other natural life including a pair of Tawny Owls that have become a popular attraction with our visitors! Woodpeckers, cuckoos and even Curlews are also regular visitors to the Site.
The Site is a hide-away site, meaning that it is small, tranquil and peaceful: an oasis of calm. It is perfectly located for countryside walks, being on the canal and a just a short hop from Colemere Country Park. It is just a little further to Blakemere, Newtonmere and then Ellesmere. This means that it is possible to explore several different routes on foot, or cycling, without having to cross any roads.
At Ty Mawr Camping and Caravaning Site you can while away the lazy afternoons admiring the wildlife and watching the slow paced life of the Llangollen canal pass by, or indulge yourself in the local wildlife and natural beauty of the area known as the Shropshire Lake District – the choice is yours!
